Before reading any further, if you’re yet to try ANY product containing Argan Oil, I suggest you get yourself down to your nearest drugstore straight away to try it out for yourself, because it’s absolutely incredible.
Argan oil does so much more than smell delicious. Known to some as ‘Morocco’s gold’, it is something of a miraculous substance when it comes to how beneficial it is. My mum has used argan oil products for her hair for quite a while and despite her love for these products, I had never found myself using them. That is until Santa left me a nice little selection in my stocking this Christmas of course!
Ever since opening this gift set, there hasn’t been one day where I’ve gone without argan oil. I adore each and every product in the set, featuring a shower gel and lip balm (these two are my faves, which my brothers and boyfriend have also decided to helped themselves to), an exfoliator and body and hand cream.
Containing high vitamin E and fatty acid content, argan oil is a wonderful source of moisture for the skin and is perfect for giving it a natural boost. The lip balm, cream and shower gel are particularly nourishing on the skin and you can feel them moisturising as soon as they’re applied. The lip balm has worked wonders on my lips, particularly in the harsh winter weather and has prevented my lips from becoming chapped or dry like they usually do. I also apply it before the application of lipstick, particularly my MAC ones with a matte finish, as it stops them from drying out on my lips and means that I can wear them for much longer without having to re-apply. On days I don’t wear lipstick, I apply generous amounts throughout the day to give my lips a bit of a shine.
When writing this post, I decided to do a little more research into the benefits of argan oil, which has subsequently left me wanting to purchase even more products! Argan oil is produced from an Argan nut coming form the Argan tree, growing exclusively in Southwestern Morocco. The nuts are traditionally cracked by hand in between two stones to extract the oil.
With thanks to its high source of fatty acids, argan oil has proven in testing to reduce signs of ageing after lessening the severity of wrinkles and helping to prevent premature ageing – life long supplies of these products will definitely be required haha! As well as this, it softens and strengthens the skin, consequently helping to prevent strength marks.
Have you ever tried any products containing argan oil? I’d love to hear your thoughts, don’t forget to leave a comment!
