On 2nd November I was lucky enough to be treated to a day out in London with my amazing family. We decided to go for a meal and see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the West End.
We started the day by driving down to Brent Cross and jumping straight on the tube to Leicester Square, where we headed to the box office to pick up our tickets. We were amazed by how amazing the seats where. After that my cousin, originally from France, works in a beautiful restaurant called ‘The Delaunay’. We decided to surprise her and pop in and say hello.
My sister went to university in London for three years and to this day she NEVER stops banging on about a restaurant called Flat Iron, so we thought we better try it out. It started as a pop up in Covent Garden and it was so successful they have gone on to open three restaurants all around London.
However, this place only serves steak, so if you aren’t a fan, stay clear. Flat iron is so unique because it only has one thing on the menu, a flat iron steak (for £10 I may add)!
However they do also put on some specials. Our choices where, a Flat Iron Burger, a Sirloin and an inside Skirt. Another cute little touch is that they give you a mini clever as your knife. This restaurant also doesn’t take bookings so it is first come first serve. Apparently, it’s usually an hour and a half wait, however we where very fortunate and got seated in 10 minutes.
The steak was amazing so juicy, tender and cooked to perfection. To top it off, at the end of the meal they give you a token which means you can get a free ice-cream. Yep, you heard me. FREE ICE-CREAM! Beautiful salted caramel ice-cream in a cone.
After having the most amazing dining experience and feeling very satisfied we headed to the theatre to take our seats.
The show was amazing. I was stunned by all of the staging. I couldn’t take any photos however you could tell how much time and effort had gone into making this show so magical. From flying glass elevators to robotic bad nut detecting squirrels, they had it all. I can’t forget to mention the amazing actors, some being very young who blew us all away. I left feeling very inspired and warm inside, just how you should feel after visiting the theatre.
Unfortunately, it was then time for us to leave as my family had work early in the morning so we set off home.
Thank you so much for reading this post about my trip into London. Let me know if any of you have visited Flat Iron or seen Charlie and Chocolate Factory and what your thoughts are. Make sure you read all about our very Autumnal day in St Albans or how we got FRONT row for Justin Bieber! Yeah, you heard.
Much Love, xo
