A while back I did a review on ‘185 Waitling Street’ – a beautiful restaurant in Towcester. It’s safe to say I was EXTATIC when I found out that the same company ‘EPIC Pubs‘where opening one around the corner from me in Asply Guise called The Anchor. Last week I decided to visit for the first time.
For starters I had ‘Potted Woburn Ham with Bacon Jam’. I actually forgot to take a photo of this (oops) but it was delicious. The Ham was so tasty and putting some of the Jam and Ham onto the toast really made it a great starter.
For mains I had slow-roasted Pork Belly & Fillet, Fondant Potato, Broccoli Purée & Toasted Almonds.
We also shared some Honey and garden Thyme roasted Carrots to make us feel better about eating so much food. My main was amazing -the Pork fillet was so tender and the Pork belly was so juicy. I wasn’t so sure about liking the Brocolli Purée but it was absolutely delicious and really enhanced the meal.
Service is a very important part of a meal and the service we received could not be faulted.
That is now two ‘Epic Pubs’ that have been A* for me.
Thanks so much for reading this blog post, I hope you enjoyed reading about my experience.Make sure you catch up on what Billie wears for work in Autumn.
