I was lucky enough to spend last weekend at Center Parcs Elveden Forest celebrating my boyfriends grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary. This Center Parcs location is set across 400 acres in the stunning woodland forest, and our time spent there was full of fun and exciting activities to participate in.
Apart from having been to the Center Parcs at Woburn Forest on day passes, this was my first proper Center Parcs experience and the first time ever staying in the lodges. Me, my boyfriend and his brother took the one and a half hour journey early on Friday morning to start exploring as soon as possible to make the most out of our stay before meeting with the other 9 people coming later on in the afternoon when they arrived. We were spread out across two lodges, one four bedroom and one two bedroom.
From adrenaline-pumping activities to taking some time indulging in the Aqua Sana spa, we did it all! Some of the activities included aerial challenges, zip wires across the lake, wake boarding, archery, tennis, segways, badminton and swimming.
For any of you that didn’t know already, my boyfriend is a uni student and works at Center Parcs when he’s back. One major perk of the job – HUGE SAVINGS IF YOU VISIT!! As long as the activities weren’t fully booked, he could get us on them for free thanks to his very handy staff card. Luckily, the schools hasn’t broken up for summer, so there was a lot of space for the activities that we wanted to do, we just had to pre-plan and work out when there was the most spaces on each activity in order to get as many of us on as possible. Over the full stay, we worked out that between his whole entire family, we had saved over £1200 thanks to the discount he gets in the restaurants, shops and free admission onto the activities.
The weather turned out to be absolutely lovely, as it was our first weekend of the summer with warm temperatures and sunshine in the UK.
p.s. If you didn’t already know, me and my best friend (Amy) both post on this site and blog together. We haven’t been doing it for long, and have been overwhelmed with the lovely comments and support that we’ve had from all you lovely people so far. We recently did our first ever blog post for the lovely Gwennan, sharing our post disappointing blog posts of all time! If you fancy a quick read, you’ll find it here.
