On Saturday the 9th July, we attended the much anticipated event, Electric Daisy Carnival. We don’t live far away from Milton Keynes, so this was an opportunity that we absolutely couldn’t miss out on! It was a day filled of music, dancing, laughter and many alcoholic beverages. EDC is a worldwide dance festival extravaganza, most famously held in the UK, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Orlando.
It was so surreal when we got there because people had literally travelled from everywhere to go to this event, yet to us, Milton Keynes is a 15 minute drive down the trusty A421. We were surprised to hear Welsh and Northern accents, and even more astonished after seeing people with European flags once we were inside the venue.
The event was held at the Milton Keynes Bowl, which is renown for holding huge concerts in this area. Huge acts such as Queen, Green Day and Metallica have performed there. The main stage was located in the bowl, where the capacity is around 65,000. In the surrounding fields were the other stages and tents.
The atmosphere was absolutely insane! Everyone was there for the same reason, pure enjoyment. Our favourite acts had to be Avicci, who headlined, Galantis, Sigma and Oliver Heldens. We danced for hours on end and certainly woke up with sore feet the next morning.
We’ve shared our pictures from the event, so please feel free to have a look through! If any of you attended the event, we would love to hear your thoughts on it and know who your favourite act was!
